Context research

For 'Context' I have settled on a question out of the field guide. 
'Make a work which moves from one place to another'.
For this project I started my initial research by looking at children's dolls. Because although they do not move themselves, they move constantly with the child.

During this workshop I learned a whole new range techniques I had never used before. 
I created this necklace.

After I created the two initial illustrations I then worked on a programme called Adobe flash, where I animated both of the illustrations. This is my animation.

During this workshop I was partly working with Adobe illustrator, a piece of software I already have a broad knowledge of, so I found it easy to function illustrator to create my initial illustrations for this workshop. These are my two initial illustrations.

During this workshop I learned to use Premier, a piece of software I have never used before. I feel like it was a successful workshop because I have learned the basic functions of Premier.

During this workshop, the main technique I learned was embossing and embossing with ink. 
I feel like this workshop was successful because I learned the correct way to use the equipment and technique. 

Casting workshop with Ruth

In this workshop I used a casting technique where we take a mould from a piece of fruit using plaster and scrim to strengthen the mould.  I made my mould in 3 sections so it would be easier to take apart and put back together. While making the mould I made sure I left a funnel to pour the wax into the mould.

When I had finished making the mould I scraped the edges until I could see the seam, then using a chisel and hammer I took them apart, them rejoined them, then I poured wax into the funnel and waited for It to set and cool. Then, using the same technique with a chisel and hammer, I took them apart to reveal my wax banana.
